About Your Loop Recorder

A loop recorder is exactly what it sounds like—it’s a device that records your heart rate and rhythms on a continuous loop. Your doctor may want you to get a loop recorder if they think you may have an abnormal heart rhythm that they’d like to evaluate.

A loop recorder is a sensor about the size of the cap of a pen and has a battery that will last for around three years. When your doctor inserts the loop recorder, they’ll place the loop recorder underneath the skin to the left of your breastbone.
