Positioning After Knee Replacement

After surgery, you’ll be encouraged to stand and walk with assistance, as much as you can tolerate. In order to help your knee become straighter after surgery, avoid putting a pillow under your operated knee. If you have been given a knee immobilizer, your physical therapist will instruct you on how to use it. Keep your knee as active as you’re allowed to, slowly bending it. Everyone’s recovery is different. It can be difficult, but the key is to stay positive and focused. If you need help, your care team is here for you.
